About Khaos Research
The research group Khaos at the University of Malaga focuses its research activities on data management, integration, and analysis, particularly in the realm of Big Data. It operates at the intersection of technologies related to large-scale data management and integration, W3C data standards, data analytics technologies, meta-heuristic optimization, and Big Data analysis. The group emphasizes the application of research findings to real-world problems, particularly in the fields of health and agrifood. Within this context, the current research proposal focuses on exploiting domain semantics in Big Data analysis algorithms and workflows.
The research group Khaos is located in the Ada Byron Research Building at the University of Malaga. Its members teach in the Department of Languages and Computer Science at the University of Malaga, which is affiliated with the School of Computer Science Engineering at the University of Malaga. As a result of the research lines it develops, not only have scientific articles been published in highly relevant international journals and conferences, but also open-source software projects have been generated for use by both the research community and businesses. The group has extensive experience in both European and national research projects, and is currently responsible for teaching the University’s Own Master’s Degree in Advanced Analytics on Big Data.
